Focusing on cross-sector partnerships to support the health of older adults, Dr. Brewster and colleagues are also applying mixed methods to understand the development of partnerships between Area Agencies on Aging and health care organizations such as insurers and delivery systems. The two project objectives are to 1) understand how highly partnered AAAs in regions with low levels of avoidable health care utilization for older adults establish and maintain partners in health care and other sectors and 2) understand how such partnerships are catalyzed, developed and sustained.This work has been supported by grants from the Donaghue Foundation and Retirement Research Foundation, and in partnership with teams at Yale, Miami University in Ohio, and USAging.
